Mildenhall happy with Lions move
15 Jul 2010 - 11:34:12
New Millwall signing Steve Mildenhall has admitted it was an easy decision to join the club after leaving Southend United by mutual consent.
The 32-year-old is looking forward to challenging regular number one David Forde as the Lions prepare for their return to the Championship following their League One play-off triumph in May.
Speaking to the club's official website, Mildenhall said: "I'm very pleased to be here. It took a couple of days and sometimes I thought it wouldn't happen, but now it has and it was an easy decision to come here.
"The size of the club is massive and every time I have played here there has been an incredible atmosphere and Millwall have always had brilliant support.
"They are a good side, did really well to get promoted last season and I want to be around the type of players here - winners.
"I will enjoy working with David and hope to learn some things from him as I hope to impart some to him as well. However, only one of us can play and it is up to me to try and force the manager into picking me."
