McInnes makes Lions exit

Veteran midfielder Derek McInnes has left Millwall to return home to Scotland to join St Johnstone. The 35-year-old had only joined the Lions in the summer, but has opted to move on to be nearer his family north of the border. He told the Saints' official club website: "I missed the family when I was down south during the week and my wife is pregnant so I felt it was right to come back to Scotland. "I went to Millwall in the summer on a two-year deal, but with an understanding that I would review things after six months to see how I was getting on with the travelling. "Millwall are such a professional club with great facilities and I would have loved to have gone there earlier in my career. "It was just a case of the right club at the wrong time."
