Lions protest their innocence
13 Oct 2009 - 10:56:01
Millwall will appeal against the charges that have been brought against them by the Football Association following the crowd trouble that marred their Carling Cup defeat at West Ham United in August.
The Lions, as well as the Premier League club, were alleged to have taken insufficient action to stop missile throwing and violent, threatening and racist behaviour at Upton Park.
However, the League One side's chief executive, Andy Ambler, said: "It's our contention that the charges are not justified.
"We will be pleading not guilty to all charges and defending our position vigorously.
"It's a frustration to us that we're committing significant resources of time, energy and money towards having to defend ourselves in the face of these charges."
