Millwall are closing in on the signing of former Ipswich Town defender Scott Barron.
The 21-year-old has been released by the Tractor Boys and is in talks with Lions boss Willie Donachie over a free transfer move to The Den.
Donachie previously worked with Barron when he was number two to Joe Royle at Ipswich.
"Scott can play at left-back or on the left side of midfield which will give us further options in a variety of positions," he told the club's official website.
"He gained quite a bit of Championship experience the season before last when I was working with Joe Royle at Portman Road, but last season he didn't fit into Jim Magilton's plans.
"He will come to us hungry to prove that he is a quality player capable of making his mark at Championship level again - and that's where we want to be as a club in a year's time."
