Smith and Martin missed the Boxing Day defeat at Norwich due to one-match suspensions having been booked five times this season.[LNB]Smith faces competition from Tony Craig (cheekbone) and Scott Barron (ankle) to regain his place after both returned from injuries at Carrow Road. Martin could replace either Danny Schofield or Lewis Grabban in the starting line-up.[LNB]Manager Kenny Jackett is still without strike duo Neil Harris (back) and Gary Alexander (heel).[LNB]Defender Zak Whitbread is still recovering from a long-term hip problem and on-loan winger James Henry, who has been struggling with a hamstring injury, has gone back to Reading.[LNB]Meanwhile, Jackett was disappointed that his side didn't build on a lively opening as they went on to lose 2-0 to the Canaries on Saturday.[LNB]Wes Hoolahan scored one brilliantly-taken goal and set up another for Grant Holt as Norwich secured the win.[LNB]"I felt we started the game really well, causing Norwich problems and creating a few chances, which unfortunately we didn't take," Jackett said.[LNB]"Once they scored I thought they had enough about them to hold us off. They are a very strong side, and in Hoolahan they have probably the best player in this division, you could see how they have won eight home matches in a row.[LNB]"I thought there was plenty out there to build on, plus one or two things we need to put right, but on the day we came up against a very good side.[LNB]"Looking ahead to the rest of the season, there's no doubt we need to do better away from home but we're in there, nibbling on the edge, and will be looking to push into the top six in the new year."[LNB][LNB]
