Jackett hails in-form Lions

Kenny Jackett felt his side deserved to edge a tight game after Millwall strengthened their promotion push with a 1-0 victory over Stockport County.

The Lions are now up to third place and just one point adrift of League One leaders Scunthorpe United.

"I'm very pleased with the win as Stockport are a big team," Jackett told the club's official website.

"In a tight game it was great to get the goal. Dave Martin hit the free-kick hard and firm. It went through the wall and gave us the lead.

"In the second half we were the better team and had a lot of chances.

"It's terrific to keep a clean sheet against a team with an unbeaten away record.

"I have a lot of respect for County and I think they'll be in the top six at the end of the season."
