Jackett: Just not good enough

13 September 2009 13:17
Stunning first-half goals from Andy Barcham and Curtis Weston earned the hosts victory against the injury-hit Lions. "It was a poor result and a poor display," said Jackett. "We've had a lot of injuries and a lot of players coming into the club and that's been very disruptive for us. "We had no rhythm but the way we played was just not good enough - these are not excuses, they are facts. The thing I need to do now is to get us to gel and find that rhythm as soon as possible. "We need to compete better. We just couldn't get hold of Simeon Jackson throughout the game and we left a lot of space in front of our back four. "The fans are right to be unhappy because it's a local derby and Gillingham had the edge to every single ball and that's where they won the game."
