Cardiff City 2-1 Millwall: Report

25 September 2010 14:30
Andy Keogh`s 89th-minute header earned a 2-1 win and got Cardiff out of jail as they looked set to waste the chance to return to winnings ways against a hard-working Millwall side who battled for more than 50 minutes with only 10 men.

The on-loan Wolves man, who otherwise endured a quiet afternoon, picked the perfect moment to grab his first goal of the season and banish back-to-back defeats for the npower Championship promotion hopefuls.

City were anything but impressive, though, and the result was harsh on a Millwall side who had Liam Trotter sent off for a bad foul on Darcy Blake, and quickly had David Forde to thank for producing a superb save to keep out Peter Whittingham`s penalty.

Lions defender Scott Barron had handed the visitors an early lead with a rare strike only to see Jay Bothroyd level matters with his fifth goal of the season midway through an eventful first half.
