Brown: Tigers made quality count

The Premier League side saw off their League One opponents with goals from Michael Turner and Ian Ashbee in a scrappy fourth-round tie at the KC Stadium.[LNB]Turner headed home his fourth goal of the season from a free-kick in the 15th minute but the visitors remained in contention until Tigers captain Ashbee struck from distance with five minutes remaining.[LNB]Brown said: "I was pleased with the performance and the way we applied ourselves.[LNB]"Kenny has come here with a game-plan and made it very difficult for us to get any fluency in our game.[LNB]"That is credit to them but the bottom line is that little bit of quality in front of goal has paid off for us.[LNB]"It was always going to be about a thorough, professional approach and I think that is what we have seen."[LNB]Brown admitted his heart was in his mouth after a gaffe by goalkeeper Tony Warner, making his debut, almost gifted Millwall's on-loan striker Izale McLeod a first-half goal.[LNB]Marc Laird also missed a glorious opportunity when he somehow failed to find the target in first-half injury time.[LNB]Brown added: "The turning point was their miss just before half-time. If that goes in, at 1-1 it's a different game in the second half."[LNB]Kenny Jackett felt the Lions had given a good account of themselves and were unfortunate to have been edged out.[LNB]The former Wales international said: "I'm disappointed to lose the game. Up until their second goal we were in it, the second goal killed us off.[LNB]"We were disappointed with the first one, we had targeted Turner as a big player for them, very capable of scoring from set-pieces.[LNB]"We should have done better in that situation, it would have given us a better chance.[LNB]"It was quite a scrappy game, which maybe suited the away side and the side from the lower divisions.[LNB]"So from that point of view it was maybe an opportunity we didn't capitalise on."[LNB]Jackett also commented on Warner's mistake, when the former Lions goalkeeper stumbled after failing to control a routine back-pass.[LNB]McLeod looked set to take advantage but Warner dived on the ball at the expense of an indirect free-kick in the area.[LNB]Jackett said: "I don't blame Tony Warner at all, he has made the mistake and then dived on the ball. I would have done the same in his position.[LNB]"But it seems a funny situation when there is not even a booking when the centre-forward is going to roll the ball into the net."[LNB][LNB]
