On-loan defender Jonathan Woodgate has dropped the strongest possible hint that he would like to make his stay at Middlesbrough into a permanent transfer.
The England defender is on a season-long loan at the Riverside Stadium from Real Madrid, but after struggling with injury and form in Spain, Woodgate appears to be enjoying life back in his native north east.
"The gaffer's brilliant and our coaching staff are second to none," he told the Daily Star. "Every coach has a job to do and they all do it perfectly.
"That's not always the case at some clubs where you might have some of them just sitting around and picking their wages up.
"Here, they're all 100 per cent committed to making sure we're absolutely spot-on when we go out on to that pitch."
