Why Strachan Dropped Arca
Gordon Strachan revealed that Julio Arca has needed a series of injections to get through games in recent weeks, and it was time to give him a rest. Gordon Strachan: “Arca has had a problem with his toe for a long time. “He’s been very brave, and he’s battled through for us after having injections beforehand. “But it was unfair to ask him to play at Ipswich and we’ve got to give him a chance to rest it a bit. “The lad would have been happy to play at Ipswich. “But we have brought a fresh young kid in and it was a chance to give Tony McMahon a wee rest. “We’ve got a lot of games coming up very quickly and we need to give everybody every chance to keep themselves fit.”
