Wheater's Premier aim

David Wheater is concentrating only on the task of getting Middlesbrough back into the Barclays Premier League after committing himself to the fight for promotion. The 22-year-old has been linked with a series of clubs - Liverpool, Aston Villa and Birmingham in particular - since the Teessiders slipped into the Coca-Cola Championship. However, he was swift to insist he was staying at the Riverside Stadium, and he knows what the focus must be as his team-mates prepare to return to training on Monday. He told the club's official website: "Nobody likes being relegated, but you have to get on with it. We just have to concentrate on trying to go straight back up again. "If we keep as many players as we can, I think we have a great chance of doing it. We know that it's a tough league, but we have players who can handle it." Meanwhile, out-of-contract keeper Ross Turnbull has completed his switch to Chelsea and has penned a four-year deal.
