Wheater looks to duo

Middlesbrough defender David Wheater believes their star quality gives them an edge over their rivals in the battle to avoid relegation.[LNB] Boro boosted their survival hopes with a 2-0 win over Liverpool to record their first league victory since November.[LNB]Stewart Downing was Boro's star performer against Liverpool with Tuncay scoring the crucial second goal after Xabi Alonso had turned Downing's corner into his own net for the opener.[LNB]Wheater feels Downing and Tuncay could be the difference for Boro in their bid for survival.[LNB]"The difference between us and the teams around us is they don't have players of Downing and Tuncay's quality," Wheater told The Sun.[LNB]"With the players we have, we should be higher up the table and that showed here. Believe it or not, all our players thought we'd win. [LNB]"It has been a very difficult time for the manager, too. But we have always had faith in him and us." [LNB]
