Ward ready to go

Coventry defender Elliott Ward insists he is ready to start his first game of the season against Middlesbrough on Saturday. Ward has been out for four weeks following minor knee surgery but played 20 minutes of last weekend's 3-2 defeat to Preston at Deepdale. He also played 90 minutes in a reserve match on Monday night and the 24-year-old former West Ham man feels ready to make a full return to first-team action - should Chris Coleman call upon his services "I am not expecting a start, but you are always hopeful," Ward told the Coventry Telegraph. "I will just work hard in training and see what happens. "I think I am fit to start a game now I have got a reserve game under my belt. "I was tired in stages and it was one of the toughest 90 minutes I have had, but it was just what I needed to get myself back in to it."
