Trio added to Boro squad

Published: 05 Feb 2010 - 09:39:20

New signings Scott McDonald, Lee Miller and Kyle Naughton go straight into the Middlesbrough squad for the Coca-Cola Championship trip to Ipswich. The trio will join transfer-window arrivals Chris Killen, Willo Flood and Stephen McManus, although Barry Robson is suspended following his sending-off against Bristol City last weekend.Manager Gordon Strachan will hope McDonald and Miller in particular can compensate for the loss of 12-goal winger Adam Johnson following his move to Manchester City. But Strachan will head for Portman Road with injuries continuing to limit his options and Isaiah Osbourne having returned to Aston Villa after his loan deal expired.Chris Riggott, Emanuel Pogatetz (both hamstring), Jeremie Aliadiere (ankle) and Rhys Williams (pelvic injury) are all still out, while Seb Hines (ankle and knee ligament) and Matthew Bates (cruciate ligament) remain on the long-term casualty list.
