Todd hopes for Boro truce

Darlington manager Colin Todd hopes to secure more promising young players on loan from north-east neighbours Sunderland. The Black Cats have already loaned Jamie Chandler and David Dowson to the Quakers, and Todd has pinpointed several of Middlesbrough reserve players as potential targets. However, he admits that could prove difficult after a scheduled pre-season match between Boro and Darlington last month was called off by the Quakers boss who claimed a series of injuries had decimated his squad. Todd told the Northern Echo: "I might have upset Middlesbrough, I don't know, because they are being a little bit difficult at times. "But I had to call the game off, I didn't have a squad. But Sunderland have been great, I'll be having another look at their reserves this week and hopefully I can get someone else in."
