Stuttgart keen on Tuncay

Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate has confirmed that Tuncay is wanted by Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart. The Turkey international is expected to leave the Riverside this summer in the wake of Boro's relegation to the Championship. Markus Babbel's side, who have already secured the services of Alexander Hleb from Barcelona, are still to make an official approach for Tuncay. "I believe there's some interest there but we haven't had an offer as such," Southgate told the Evening Gazette. Southgate is also anticipating that strikers Mido and Afonso Alves will leave Teesside in the coming weeks, although there has been no progress, with the Boro boss adding: "Nothing has changed." Young Galway United winger Jay O'Shea has been linked with a move to Boro, but Southgate insists reports of a swoop for the 20-year-old are premature. "He's a player we've had a look at but at the moment our priority is players who are going to go straight into our first team," added Southgate. "Our reports are good on him but it's not something we are able to do at the moment."
