Strachan plans more signings

Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan has revealed he intends to further strengthen his squad despite signing three new players from Celtic.

Barry Robson, Willo Flood and Chris Killen have all rejoined former Bhoys boss Strachan at the Riverside Stadium, but their arrival does not signal the end of the Scot's transfer ambitions this month.

"All three players are competitive and will have a chance of making an impact here, but we are still doing a lot more work to get more players in, that's for sure," he said.

"The squad was short to begin with and we have lost players like Didier (Digard) and (Mohamed) Shawky, so numbers-wise, we are still in about the same position.

"We need to add to the squad and we are looking to do that."
