Strachan urges youngsters to seize opportunity

Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan has warned his young players they have to be ready to take their chance if called upon. Strachan's squad has been plagued by injuries for much of his time on Teesside and that has meant he has had to turn to some of the club's younger players more often than he would have liked. Australian midfielder Rhys Williams has been a regular while 20-year-olds Jonathan Franks and Joe Bennett have been involved in recent weeks. Strachan said: "There's a lot still needs to be done with them. There are opportunities in life. People say you have to be lucky but I think lucky is when preparation meets opportunity. "If you are prepared and your opportunity comes along, then take it. If not, you might miss out."
