Strachan upbeat despite defeat

Middlesbrough manager Gordon Strachan was pleased with his side's performance at Millwall despite them losing 2-1 in the Carling Cup second-round tie. Former Stevenage striker Steve Morison, who impressed throughout, opened the scoring from the spot, before Liam Trotter capitalised on some poor defending to double their advantage. Scott McDonald pulled a goal back through a David Forde clanger late on, but Millwall were worthy winners as Boro failed to build on Sunday's 1-0 home win over Sheffield United. Yet Strachan insisted: "We didn`t play well against Sheffield United on Sunday, but I thought we were much better in this game. "I know we won on Sunday, but I will sleep much better after this performance than I did on Sunday."
