Miller: Has attracted a bid from Middlesbrough[LNB]Aberdeen have received a bid from Middlesbrough for striker Lee Miller.[LNB]The 26-year-old is out of contract in the summer and the Dons have so far been unable to convince him to sign a new deal.[LNB]Reports claim Boro have tabled a bid of £500,000 for the Scotland international, who manager Mark McGhee recently admitted he would be prepared to sell.[LNB]Aberdeen announced they were considering an offer for Miller shortly after McGhee revealed an approach had been made by former Pittodrie team-mate Gordon Strachan.[LNB]McGhee told BBC Sport: 'Middlesbrough have asked about Lee Miller. They have made an approach and the clubs are talking.[LNB]'If a deal is done, it will have to be done very quickly. We have to decide whether we want to keep him or sell.'[LNB]Boro boss Strachan, who has also been linked with Celtic's Scott McDonald, attended the Dons' 3-0 Clydesdale Bank Premier League win at Hearts on Wednesday night.[LNB]That game saw Miller make his return from a three-match SPL ban.[LNB]The forward joined Aberdeen three-and-a-half years ago and finished the club's top scorer last season and during the previous campaign.[LNB]He has struggled in front of goal this term, netting just four times in 23 games in all competitions.[LNB]But Strachan sees him as a solution to his own side's goalscoring problems, which he bemoaned after they dominated yesterday's goalless Coca-Cola Championship game with Bristol City.[LNB]Miller's sale could free up funds for McGhee to sign Plymouth striker Steven MacLean, who he has been chasing all month.[LNB] Middlesbrough 0 Bristol City 0: Boro bore draw leaves managers frustratedBoro fail in £3.5m bid to sign Celtic striker Scott McDonald[LNB] [LNB]
