Former England manager Steve McClaren is in contention to be named Dutch football's coach of the year after leading FC Twente to the brink of the Eredivisie title. [LNB]McClaren, known as 'The Wally with the Brolly' for England's Euro 2008 qualification loss to Croatia at Wembley, has been nominated for the prestigious Rinus Michels Award alongside Ajax's Martin Jol, Feyenoord's Mario Been and Heracles Almelo's Gertjan Verbeek, who today agreed to take charge of AZ Alkmaar from next season.
