Steele makes return as reserves clinch title

Middlesbrough goalkeeper Jason Steele got 90 minutes under his belt on his return from injury as he helped the reserves secure the league title. Steele played his part in a 3-2 victory over Lincoln at Sincil Bank, which ensured Boro finished at the top of the totesport.com League East, after more than six weeks on the sidelines with a torn side muscle. There was further good news for senior boss Tony Mowbray as Jonathan Franks and Luke Williams also played to put themselves in contention for at least a proportion of the remaining npower Championship campaign. Franks, who had been sidelined since February by an ankle injury, played the opening 45 minutes before being replaced by Williams, ruled out since January with ankle ligament damage. Charlie Wyke and Bruno Pilatos put the visitors 2-0 up but after Lincoln had fought back to 2-2, Ben Gibson snatched victory with an injury-time header.
