Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate has been named the Barclays Manager of the Month for August.
Boro have made a promising start to the campaign, beating Tottenham and newly-promoted Stoke City 2-1 at the Riverside Stadium.
Southgate's team were unfortunate to lose by the same scoreline against Liverpool at Anfield.
Southgate won the Player of the Month award in January 2000 and becomes the first Middlesbrough manager to collect the prize since Terry Venables in January 2001.
The decision was made by the Barclays Awards Panel, which includes representatives from football's governing bodies, the media and fans.
