Southgate stays positive

Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate was left rueing missed chances, after seeing his side lose 2-1 at Fulham to stay in relegation danger at the wrong end of the Premiership. A late Mark Viduka goal was all Boro had to show for their efforts, leaving Southgate to gloss over another poor display. He said: "We created chances and could not believe we were two down at half-time. "We stuck at it and made chances but it is hard enough to come from one down, let alone two. "We caused Fulham problems, but we had three lads at the back who have not played in weeks. We dug in and could have folded, yet we might have got a point at the end. "At the other end of the field we posed a real threat and I do feel we created enough chances to win the game. "We wanted to have a go at Fulham. I thought we caused them a lot of problems and I can't ask for any more commitment from my players."
