Gareth Southgate believed Middlesbrough did not deserve to get anything out of the game after losing 2-0 to Arsenal.[LNB] Southgate's side lost at the Emirates after Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas netted in either half.[LNB]But his first goal should have been disallowed as replays showed Nicklas Bendtner strayed into an offside position and was also in the line of keeper Brad Jones.[LNB]Boro were also denied a penalty appeal for a handball against Bendtner to make it a day to forget for Southgate.[LNB]He told Sky Sports: "We didn't do enough to get anything from the game, there's no question.[LNB]Score first"You probably need to score first to get a result here I think and we weren't able to do that and once they'd scored it was fairly comfortable for them.[LNB]"We've had one or two decent chances, in the first half we kept our shape well but once you are behind and chasing the game it is a very difficult place to play."[LNB]Asked about the first goal, Southgate said: "The off-side, he's clearly standing in front of the goalkeeper so that one hasn't gone for us", while he had not seen a replay of the Boro penalty shout.[LNB]The Boro boss believed 'one or two heads' had gone down when his side went two goals behind, which disappointed him.[LNB]"But generally the lads kept going," he said, picking out Robert Huth and Tuncay for particular praise.[LNB]Positive resultSouthgate is now looking tfor a positive result in the next game against Manchester United at the Riverside.[LNB]"Its about what we do from here on in now - we have got a massive game at home next week and we've got our fans behind us there and it's a more realistic chance of getting something," he believed.[LNB]"But we're capable, we've done it in the past - we've said we've got to pick some big results up.[LNB]"Results went for us yesterday so were still in with a chance but we realise that we've got it all to do."[LNB]
