Middlesbrough [LNB]are losing patience with keeper Ross Turnbull and have made the young keeper a final contract offer.[LNB]The England youth keeper was dropped for Saturday's goalless draw with Blackburn and, after understudy Brad Jones's fine performance, Turnbull looks certain to be left out when Boro visit Manchester City this weekend.[LNB] Dropping a clanger: Turnbull misses a cross to give Salomon Kalou his second goal for Chelsea against Middlesbrough[LNB]Boro boss Gareth Southgate has been negotiating with 24-year-old Turnbull and his advisers for several months after securing a new three-year deal with Australia-born Jones.[LNB]Southgate said: "Ross has been terrific for us. I think we've made a very good offer and it's up to him. If he wants to sign it, brilliant, if he doesn't, that's his prerogative."[LNB]Turnbull had a run of 22 League games ahead of Jones after the Aussie broke his finger in the warm-up for the second game of the season at Anfield.[LNB]But after conceding a sloppy goal at Chelsea last week, Southgate decided to leave him out for Blackburn's visit to the Riverside on Saturday.[LNB]Southgate said: "Ross has had a super run but Brad deserved his chance. I didn't want Ross to stay in too long, you can do that sometimes. [LNB]"He has come out feeling reasonably good about himself not lacking in confidence and still has a point to prove to get back in. Brad showed why he was in at the start of the season and responded well."[LNB]Boro are unlikely to make any moves in the final hours of the transfer window unless Reading unexpectedly change their mind about selling James Harper who was subject of a £5million bid from the Teesside club last week.[LNB] Middlesbrough 0 Blackburn 0: Diouf on the defensive but Boro have no excuses[LNB]Chelsea 2 Middlesbrough 0: Salomon's brace settles Chelsea's nerves[LNB]MIDDLESBROUGH FC NEWS FROM ACROSS THE WEB[LNB][LNB] [LNB]
