Southgate: Loss was wake-up call

Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate will not panic in the wake of Saturday's horror show against West Brom. Boro went into the game knowing they might end the day at the top of the Coca-Cola Championship with a win, but 90 minutes later found themselves on the wrong end of a 5-0 drubbing. Southgate told the Evening Gazette: "We have been battered for that result, and rightly so, but our task now is to make sure there is no possibility of a repeat. "If it's a wake-up call, then it's come at the right time, when we have still got 38 games left to play. We have to put right what went wrong and we have to make sure that everybody sticks firmly together. "It's a time for keeping our feet on the ground, remembering what we have achieved so far this season and going to Coventry on Saturday to play in the manner we know we can."
