Southgate hails positive mindset
Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate insists his side have adopted a much more positive mentality in preparation for the new campaign.
The former England international is determined his side can stay fully focused throughout the season as they attempt to win promotion back into the Premier League.
"We've laid down a way of working that changed dramatically from what we were doing last year," he said. "We've had to raise the standards of everything we do.
"The mindset going into this season is the most crucial thing, we've got to go and win week after week to get to where we want to get to. It means we have to have a winning mentality about our training and how we are around the training ground.
"It's an achievable goal for us but one that's going to take a huge commitment from everybody for the next 10-11 months but the players have responded really well to that and we're ready for the challenge that lies ahead."
