Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate is in confident mood ahead of their clash with Tottenham. Boro come into the game on the back of successive wins after knocking West Ham out of the FA Cup and then defeating title-chasing Liverpool at the weekend. Despite still being in the bottom three, the Teessiders are now within two points of Tottenham and Southgate is delighted with the renewed confidence around the club. "There is a lot of work ahead of us but they have seen we can win and beat good teams," he told Sky Sports News. "We were able to name an unchanged team and our back four has been unchanged for four games or five games, so it is no surprise when you have a settled side you can get results." Don't listen to HarrySouthgate also dismissed claims from counterpart Harry Redknapp that his squad is struggling having only just played the Carling Cup final on Sunday. "I wrote a team down that contained, Woodgate, Keane, Chimbonda, Palacios, Bentley, Bale - about £50million worth of talent and none of them started on Sunday, so I don't listen to much to Harry," he said. "Going there is always tough as they are better at home than they are away and they are capable of beating anyone on their day. "We have to be bang on it to get a result against anyone in this league and Tottenham are more than capable on their day."
