Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate has called on his side to keep the belief that they can avoid relegation.[LNB] Boro remain in the drop zone after going down 1-0 to Manchester City at Eastlands courtesy of Craig Bellamy's second-half strike.[LNB]The defeat stretches Boro's winless run to 13 games and they face a massive battle to climb out of trouble at the wrong end of the table.[LNB]Southgate was frustrated not to take anything from the trip to City after seeing Afonso Alves thwarted on four occasions by debutant Shay Given.[LNB]"I'm disappointed we've not won again - we've done so many things right and it's frustrating," Southgate told Sky Sports 1.[LNB]"We looked solid and created chances away from home and not finished them, it's as simple as that.[LNB]"Performances like that are the reason we are where we are (in the table).[LNB]"We folded at Fulham and West Brom but today we've done pretty much everything right.[LNB]"We haven't finished our chances but we've created them and we've got to maintain the belief we can do that (survive)."[LNB]
