Scott feeling great after goal

Middlesbrough striker Scott McDonald was a happy man after bringing an end to the longest barren spell of his senior career. The Australia international's strike in the 2-0 win at Scunthorpe on Tuesday night was his first of the season and his first since the Carling Cup defeat at Millwall on August 24. He told the club's official website: "It's the longest I have ever gone without a goal in my senior playing career. "I haven't been too hard on myself because at times I think I have been playing quite well - although I think people can see I do get on my own back a lot. "I had one thing in my mind when I got the ball. Kris Boyd laid it off nicely for me and the back four backed off, so I thought 'I'm going to hit this'."
