Reading v Middlesbrough preview

02 October 2009 14:17
Middlesbrough look for their first win in four games as they travel to Reading on Saturday. Reading secured victory at Preston in midweek, but they are yet to win at home under Brendan Rogers and he will be looking for maximum points against an out-of-sorts Boro. Reading will assess Grzegorz Rasiak before the match at the Madejski Stadium. Rasiak - who started the midweek success at Preston on the bench - is nursing a slight knock and may be forced to miss out altogether as the Royals look for a first home league victory since January. They have scored just five goals in 14 matches in front of their own fans since beating Wolves nine months ago so will hope that the Poland international is fit. Republic of Ireland international Shane Long remains sidelined with an ankle injury and Chris Armstrong is still recovering from knee surgery. Rodgers has no other injury concerns but may again make changes as he continues with the rotation policy which has seen Alex Pearce miss out in recent weeks. Boro newsBoro boss Gareth Southgate is set to re-jig his side following their loss to Leicester in midweek. One change could very well see former Reading star Leroy Lita brought into the starting line-up with Marvin Emnes most likely to make way. Didier Digard will also be pushing for a recall after coming off the bench in midweek. Justin Hoyte missed the midweek game with an ankle problem, but he should also come back into contention.
