Derby insist Rob Hulse is not for sale amid reports Championship rivals Middlesbrough are interested in signing the striker. Boro are keen to bring in fresh faces up front with current strike duo Afonso Alves and Tuncay tipped to leave the Riverside Stadium following the club's relegation from the Premier League. The Teessiders have been linked with a £3million bid for Hulse but Derby chairman of football Adam Pearson insists the 29-year-old is highly thought of at Pride Park and is firmly in manager Nigel Clough's plans for the forthcoming season. "Rob is our player of the year, an important player for us and not one we are looking to sell," Pearson told the Derby Telegraph. "He is highly respected within the club and we rate him as probably the best centre-forward in the Championship." Hulse, who has struggled with injuries in the past, managed 54 appearances in all competitions last season scoring 18 goals.
