Potters seal Tuncay swoop
Stoke City have officially confirmed their capture of Turkish striker Tuncay Sanli from Middlesbrough.
The 27-year-old moves to the Britannia Stadium in a £5million deal, following in the footsteps of Boro team-mate Robert Huth who made a similar switch on Thursday.
As captain of the Turkey national side, with 68 caps to his name, the talented frontman will bring a wealth of experience to the Potters' squad.
His arrival is also another example of Stoke's ambition, with chief executive Tony Scholes delighted to have got players of Tuncay and Huth's calibre on board.
"This is a fantastic transfer double for the club," he told the club's official website.
"We are delighted to bring a player of Tuncay's quality to the club because he had attracted interest from a number of big clubs, as indeed had Huth.
"Therefore, this is a powerful statement of our intentions as we look to move the club forward."
Stoke boss Tony Pulis has also expressed his pleasure at sealing a notable double swoop.
"Tuncay is an exciting player with his pace and skill who will certainly get the crowd going," he said.
"He is also a player of international calibre and a leader of his national team."
Pulis added: "Robert Huth has great presence about him. He's a big, strong defender and the fact that he has played nearly 20 times for Germany is some recommendation in my book. He's one you know you can lean on."
Stoke are now waiting on permission from the Football Association and Premier League to include their new signings in their squad for Saturday's clash with Sunderland.
