Pogatetz laments injuries

Middlesbrough defender Emanuel Pogatetz has admitted that he is embarrassed at his latest injury that bothered him during the weekend clash against Nottingham Forest. He has endured an injury-plagued season to date and after fracturing his cheekbone last month in the home loss to Plymouth Argyle, the Austrian was given permission to play on Saturday with a protective mask and it was during the 1-1 draw he suffered a cut to his head. Although he played the full 90 minutes, he required stitches on the wound. Speaking to the club's official website, he said: "At the moment I feel like every time I get hit I start bleeding. "To be honest, I am a little bit embarrassed that I had to go off again for stitches. "Hopefully, it's just a bad spell and it will be over soon. "The lads have been giving me a bit of stick, saying I should cover myself in Vaseline before I go on to the pitch."
