Pears: Steele's got it all

Middlesbrough goalkeeping coach Stephen Pears believes youngster Jason Steele is ready to challenge for a place in the first team.[LNB]The 19-year-old recently returned from the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Egypt and was also named the Keeper of the Tournament while helping the U19s to the European Championship final in August.[LNB]Brad Jones and Danny Coyne have shared the goalkeeping jersey this season but Pears has put forward Steele's claims.[LNB]He told the club's official website: "Even last year as an 18-year-old I would have put him in the first team, no problem.[LNB]"He's got everything a modern day goalkeeper needs. He's good in the air and good with his feet and he's going to be really good in the future."
