Middlesbrough wing-back Stuart Parnaby has signed a contract extension to keep him at the Riverside until the summer of 2007.
The 20-year-old has been a regular in the Boro first team since earning a place in October last year and has impressed enough to earn a fresh deal with the club.
Boro boss Steve McClaren told the club's official website: "Stuart had done very well to come through and win a regular place in the first team this season.
"He has shown a first-class attitude in bouncing back from one or two injury set-backs and is very much part of my long-term plans.
"The new contract is a reward for all his hard work. We're delighted he has committed his future to the club.
"It has been part of my policy since I first came here to bring through players from our Academy system and Stuart is one of several lads who have come through the ranks."
