O'Neil seeks landmark success
12 Feb 2010 - 14:46:28
Middlesbrough midfielder Gary O'Neil is aiming for a win this weekend as he prepares to make his 300th career appearance.
Gordon Strachan's men entertain bottom-of-the-table Peterborough United on Saturday, looking to extend their unbeaten run to six games.
With the Teessiders a massive 18 points adrift of top-two Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion, their automatic promotion dream may be at an end, but former Portsmouth star O'Neil believes the play-offs are not beyond them.
He said: "There's a long way to go. The top two look a little bit far away because of the bad run we had, but you never know.
"The main aim is to get into the top six and make sure we're in the play-offs at the end of the season at least. If we can go on a little run now, we could sneak in there."
