Nottingham Forest hold talks with Cardiff winger Peter Whittingham over 1.8m move

Nottingham Forest have held talks with Cardiff winger Peter Whittingham over a £1.8million deal. Middlesbrough have also shown interest in the 25-year-old but Forest look to have the upper hand. Boro have signed Matthew Kilgallon on a season-long loan from Sunderland after Lee Naylor opted to join Cardiff. Kilgallon is still short of fitness after a back injury. The Ligue 1 side will continue to pay part of his wages.
