Mowbray pleads for patience
New Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray has called on the club's fans to remain patient as he attempts to kick-start the club's season against Bristol City.
Mowbray, who will be in the dug-out for the first time since replacing Gordon Strachan, told the club's official website: "It's time for the club and supporters to work together to get us on an upward curve, so I would ask the fans to be supportive and to be patient.
"Right now, it's clear that we are not a free-flowing football team and we will have to get there bit by bit.
"Confidence is a big thing in football, so if things don't always go to plan, I would ask the supporters to stick with it and keep backing us because their backing really can make a big difference in giving confidence to the team.
"I hope it's a great atmosphere. I'm looking forward to it and I hope the supporters are too.
"Three points would get us moving in the right direction and that will be easier to do if we all work together towards that aim."
