Mowbray making Boro plans

Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray has indicated he will wade into the January transfer window as he bids to build on his strong start to life at the Riverside Stadium. Boro travel to the Liberty Stadium to face Swansea on Sunday fresh from stringing together back-to-back wins against Crystal Palace and Scunthorpe. The mood on Teesside is that their former talismanic defender can drag the club into the mix for promotion from the npower Championship, but the new man at the helm believes that will only be done by shaking up his playing corps over the winter. "We might need to change some things around, so there might be some movement both ways in January," Mowbray told club website www.mfc.co.uk. "To my mind this is a special club and I want players here who think the same way. "The players have given us some of what we need with two displays of determination, grit and desire and we hope to add some good technical footballers as we go along, too."
