Middlesbrough striker Mido expects to be out of action until the end of the month with a hamstring injury.
The Egypt international limped off in the second half of Boro's 2-0 defeat at Everton on Sunday.
He now looks set to miss next weekend's Premier League clash with Manchester City and also Egypt's African Cup of Nations qualifier with Botswana later in the month.
"I won't be available for the game (against Botswana)," Mido told FilGoal.com
"I hope I can be fit for the game against Chelsea in the Premiership after three weeks."
Mido scored in each of his first two games for Boro following a £6million August move from Spurs, but has failed to find the net in his last five appearances.
The 24-year-old will join fellow new signings Jeremie Aliadiere (hamstring) and Sanli Tuncay (calf) on the sidelines.
