Egypt international Mido has rubbished reports suggesting he is set to leave Middlesbrough this month and sign for Besiktas.
Reports in Turkey said the much-travelled 25-year-old was on the verge of moving to Istanbul but Mido says that is certainly not the case.
He told the Evening Gazette: "No-one has spoken with me about an offer from Besiktas, and I am not interested in playing in Turkey anyway.
"It surprises me why my name is usually mentioned in the Turkish media. Last season they claimed I was going to Fenerbahce as well.
"I am willing to remain in the Premier League. If Boro agreed to sell me to an English club then I would go, otherwise I am staying for now."
Mido has been linked with Wigan Athletic recently while there were also suggestions Newcastle United were keen to land him in a player-exchange deal involving Alan Smith.
Mido has scored seven goals in 16 starts and 15 substitute appearances for Boro following his transfer from Tottenham 18 months ago.
