Mido back with Boro

Middlesbrough have confirmed that Mido has returned to the club. The Egyptian striker, who spent the latter part of last season on loan at Wigan, failed to return to the club for pre-season training earlier this month along with Brazilian Afonso Alves. Alves reported back within a week of going AWOL, but Mido has been absent for over three weeks. He has been heavily fined by the club, and has now returned - but he will not be involved in the training camp in Scotland over the coming week. "Mido returned yesterday [Monday] and has been disciplined by the club," confirmed coach Steve Agnew. "He's back with us now, but not yet part of the group as he's now following the programme the other players have gone through over the last ten days or so. "He'll follow that programme until he's on a level with the others, but that won't happen for a few more days at least because he was late he has to catch-up on everything, including all the fitness testing." Tuncay Sanli and Alves have also missed the trip to Scotland, which will include a friendly against Dumbarton, because of injury.
