Middlesbrough woe continues after Football Association slaps them with £6000 fine

The penalty stems from their Premier League defeat at West Bromwich Albion on Jan 17 when Boro players surrounded referee Mark Halsey after he dismissed midfielder Didier Digard. [LNB]An FA statement revealed Boro had admitted the charge at a regulatory commission hearing, with £2,000 of the fine suspended until the end of the 2009-10 season pending any further breaches of the same rule. Boro were already trailing 2-0 at that point before going on to lose the match against their relegation rivals 3-0 at The Hawthorns. [LNB]The Boro cause has not been helped by captain Emanuel Pogatetz's assertion that he will look to ply his trade elsewhere following the current campaign because "it becomes tiring to fight relegation every season".
