Miller doubt for Boro

Middlesbrough will assess the fitness of Ishmael Miller ahead of the visit of Leeds.

The Nottingham Forest loanee has not featured since the loss to Watford last month with an ankle ligament injury and the club's medical staff will make a decision on the former Manchester City striker's fitness.

Fellow forward Scott McDonald, the club's top scorer, missed the 3-2 home defeat to Barnsley on Saturday with a back injury and looks set to miss out again.

Justin Hoyte has been sidelined with a hip injury he picked up last month and the former Arsenal man is set to be ruled out for a few more weeks, while Julio Arca has undergone a toe operation.

Mustapha Carayol marked his return to the starting line-up with a goal against the Tykes and he is likely to be involved again as Boro look to end a run of four straight npower Championship defeats.

Leeds pair El-Hadji Diouf and Rudy Austin look set to return to the squad.

Striker Diouf was rested for the weekend draw at Wolves, while midfielder Austin had only returned from international duty with Jamaica on Friday.

Manager Neil Warnock has hinted both new signings Steve Morison and Stephen Warnock are likely to continue after they made their debuts on Saturday.

Defender Warnock played the full 90 minutes at left-back, while Morison, back from a thigh injury, also completed the full match alongside Ross McCormack up front.

Boss Warnock, who has no new injury or suspension worries, is hoping to extend Everton midfielder Ross Barkley's loan spell at Elland Road this week as he is due to return to his parent club after the Middlesbrough game. The teenager was not involved at Wolves, but could return to contention.

Leeds hope to close the gap on the top six to two points with victory.
