Aitor Karanka waits on Middlesbrough's internationals

Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Karanka will await the return of his international players before naming the side to face Fulham in the Sky Bet Championship.

Midfielder Albert Adomah and striker Cristhian Stuani have had gruelling trips with the former on duty with Ghana as they drew 1-1 with Canada in Washington DC on Tuesday while the latter played the full 90 minutes in Uruguay's World Cup qualifying victories over Bolivia and Colombia in South America.

They, along with Czech Republic defender Tomas Kalas, who came on as a substitute in a 3-2 Euro 2016 qualifier win in Holland, will be assessed as Karanka looks for Boro to bounce back from the 2-0 defeat at Reading last time out which ended a seven-game winning run.

The Spaniard will be forced to make at least one change with defender Fernando Amorebieta ineligible to play against his parent club under the terms of his loan agreement.

Fulham manager Kit Symons could be without Tim Ream after he sustained an injury while on international duty with the USA.

Symons told his pre-match press conference: "He came off after 65 minutes so we sent him off for a scan which we're waiting to be assessed and we don't know anything further, but he would be a doubt for Saturday."

Injured striker Matt Smith could soon be back in contention for the first team after being lined up for game time for Fulham's Under-21 side.

Scott Parker, Luke Garbutt and George Williams all featured in a recent friendly against Watford.
