Woodgate banned for Boro

Middlesbrough defender Jonathan Woodgate will miss the final home game of the npower Championship season against Charlton through suspension.

The 33-year-old will sit out after being sent off for two bookable offences during last weekend's 2-1 defeat at Bolton.

Midfielder Merouane Zemmama has missed the last two games with an ankle problem, while striker Lukas Jutkiewicz is battling a knee injury, and both will be assessed.

However, full-back George Friend (hamstring) and striker Emmanuel Ledesma (ankle) are out and are unlikely to make the final game of the campaign either.

Meanwhile, utility man Julio Arca, whose season has been wrecked by a toe problem, has left the club after his contract was terminated by mutual consent.

Charlton will check on Johnnie Jackson and Andy Hughes ahead of the trip.

Skipper Jackson and fellow midfielder Hughes were both forced off with knocks during last weekend's 2-1 win over Wolves.

Boss Chris Powell revealed the duo were suffering with fatigue as much as anything, so they could be available.

Midfielder Dale Stephens and striker Danny Haynes have returned to training after their recent lay-offs and could come into the reckoning, but defender Leon Cort remains a doubt with a knee problem.

Tottenham loanee Jon Obika is pushing for a start after climbing off the bench to score the last-minute winner against Wolves.

The Addicks still have a slim chance of reaching the play-offs but need a win and other results to go their way to take it to the final week.
