Boro boss Aitor Karanka faces selection dilemma ahead of Burnley clash

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka has a selection dilemma ahead of his side's Sky Bet Championship clash with Burnley at the Riverside Stadium on Tuesday night.

David Nugent is suspended after his sending-off against Birmingham so Karanka must decide whether to restore Kike to his starting line-up or turn Uruguayan Cristhian Stuani into an out-and-out striker.

Adam Forshaw and Diego Fabbrini are both pushing for starting places but Karanka is likely to keep changes to a minimum after reporting no fresh injury concerns for the tricky encounter with the Clarets.

Rhys Williams is not quite ready for a return to the Boro first team after making his comeback from two recent long-term Achilles injuries.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche must decide whether to stick or twist following a five-game winless run.

The Clarets were unchanged in a goalless stalemate with QPR, and Dyche even resisted making any changes from the substitutes' bench throughout the 90 minutes at Loftus Road.

However, with the likes of Matt Lowton, Dean Marney and Rouwen Hennings all fit and available for selection, Dyche's faith in his preferred XI could be tested.

Attacking duo Ashley Barnes and Lukas Jutkiewicz (both knee) remain out for the long term.
